Haul Truck Driver

Vocational Qualified

Haul Truck Drivers operate heavy vehicles and are responsible for manoeuvering and transporting excavated materials safely and efficiently to the correct destination around a mine site.

Haul Truck drivers are required to ensure materials have been loaded correctly and securely, monitor payloads whilst maintaining pre-start and load sheet documentation. 

Haul Truck Drivers have a strong focus and commitment to safety practices, can work effectively with others and have good communication skills.

Tasks for this role

  • Manoeuvring vehicles into position for loading and unloading

  • Loading and unloading vehicles using lifting and tipping devices

  • Observing safety requirements when loading and unloading vehicles

  • Making regular quality checks of vehicles to ensure they can be driven safely

  • Estimating weights to comply with load limitations and ensuring safe distribution of weight

  • Ensuring goods are stowed and securely covered to prevent loss and damage

  • Verifying loading documents, checking the condition of goods and obtaining certification of deliveries
