Emergency Response Competition 2018

TMERC Emergency Response Events

About

The annual Tasmanian Minerals Emergency Response Competition was first held in 1986.

The competition ensures exposure to and practice of emergency care and response to the best possible standard.

Tasmania is the only Australian state to have emergency response staff from every underground mine, surface mine and smelter working and training together throughout the year. In addition, it is the only state to have a universal emergency number to use in case of an emergency incident.

Emergency Response teams contribute to the local community by assisting in road accident emergencies, bushland fire protection and firefighting, and bushwalker rescue.

The 31st Annual Tasmanian Minerals Emergency Response Competition will be held at Cement Australia’s Railton Site.
