Tasmanian Minerals Emergency Response Competition 2025

24-25 October 2025
Hosted by Bluestone Mines Tasmania Joint Venture Pty Ltd, Murchinson Highway, Renison Bell, Tasmania

The 2025 Tasmanian Minerals Emergency Response Competition was hosted by Bluestone Mines Tasmania Joint Venture Pty Ltd at their Renison Bell Site, on Friday 24th and Saturday 25th October 2025

Collaboration and continuous improvement are central to TMEC, along with a strong commitment to safety across Tasmania’s mining, manufacturing and energy sectors.

Our annual emergency response competition allows teams to practise, strengthen Mutual Aid and demonstrate their preparedness to respond to major incidents or support local emergency services.

Held at a different site each year, the event also supports local economies, bringing more than 100 people for two days of accommodation and catering.

Prepared. Ready. Together.

It’s not enough to know the theory. Safety needs to be second nature.

Prevention Mindset

Keeping safety at top of mind for every individual and team to understand the importance of minimising risk while having the confidence in a real emergency.

Skills and Leadership

Honing skills every year with the benefit of expert adjudicators in realistic emergency situations gives each individual powerful lessons beyond theory in varied disciplines.

Sharing and Collaboration

Teams from individual mine sites learn from each other while also becoming familiar with how they can offer mutual aid of strengths and tools in the case of a major incident.

Trust and Friendship

It’s a serious program and it is a competition, but at the heart it builds deeper connections of trust and mutual respect for team members across our range of members.

We pay our respects to the palawa and pakana, the original and enduring custodians of the land and waters upon which we work, live, and love: Trouwunna/Lutruwita (Tasmania). We respect their resilience over uncountable generations and acknowledge the wisdom of elders past, present, and emerging. As residents today, we are fortunate to see those traditions reestablished and share a deeper connection physically and spiritually with Country together.
