ANNUAL CONFERENCE

Hotel Grand Chancellor Hobart |  Tuesday 4 August – Thursday 6 August, 2026

Will you be there in 2026?

Tasmania’s mining, manufacturing, and resource sectors are once again preparing to come together for one of the most significant industry gatherings on our state’s calendar: the TMEC Annual Conference 2026, taking place from 4–6 August at the Hotel Grand Chancellor, Nipaluna/ Hobart.

As we build on the strong foundation of previous years, the 2026 conference remains anchored in our core themes of Cleaner. Smarter. Diverse. This year, these themes are reinforced by an expanded suite of sub-themes shaped by the challenges and opportunities influencing our industries—ranging from workforce capability and inclusion, psychosocial safety, AI and emerging technologies, to energy efficiency, sustainability, sovereign capability, and community engagement. A broadened program of pre-conference workshops and site tours will provide delegates with deeper avenues for practical learning and collaboration.

Across the three days, attendees will gain access to a wealth of expertise through thought-provoking keynote presentations, case studies, interactive panels, and targeted discussions. This knowledge exchange is an invaluable opportunity to future-proof your business, strengthen operational resilience, build potential supply-chain partnerships, and tap into the insights of industry leaders, innovators, and peers. It is also a chance to shape TMEC’s next strategic plan, ensuring it reflects the collective needs and aspirations of our sectors.

Ultimately, the TMEC Annual Conference is designed to spark conversation, inspire innovation and encourage a cleaner, smarter, and diverse sector— one that attracts talent, earns community support, and strengthens social acceptance. By coming together, we amplify our impact and accelerate the momentum toward a resilient, sustainable future for Tasmania’s resources, manufacturing, and mining industries.

We look forward to welcoming you and collaborating on the opportunities ahead.

We pay our respects to the palawa and pakana, the original and enduring custodians of the land and waters upon which we work, live, and love: Trouwunna/Lutruwita (Tasmania). We respect their resilience over uncountable generations and acknowledge the wisdom of elders past, present, and emerging. As residents today, we are fortunate to see those traditions reestablished and share a deeper connection physically and spiritually with Country together.
