TMEC is excited to be delivering the Tasmanian Employers Conference on Tuesday 23 July (Session One), followed by the TMEC Annual Conference on Wednesday 24 and Thursday 25 July (Session Two, Three and Four) which kicks off with the usual Welcome Reception on the evening of Tuesday 23 July. The Tasmanian Employers Conference builds more substance to the Diverse theme and will provide insights on how to increase the number and quality of job applicants and retain employees.
The Tasmanian Employers Conference, hosted by TMEC will be held on Tuesday 23 July and is proudly sponsored by Mas National.
This conference, which we refer to as Session One of the larger TMEC Annual Conference, builds more substance to the Diverse theme and will provide insights on how to increase the number and quality of job applicants and retain employees. Invitations to session one will be sent to all major employers across all sectors in Tasmania and based on initial feedback, this is likely to be oversubscribed.
Kicking off before lunch, demographer Lisa Denny will analyse what new challenges employers will need to be able to address in the next 2-5 years with respect to securing their workforce needs and what employers could be doing to increase the number of school students taking on STEM-based subjects. Dr Polly McGee will explore the neuroscience of inclusion whilst HR & Millennial Specialist, Emily Jaksch will unpack the intricacies of attracting and retaining millennials into our workforce as well as exploring the generational challenges that employers need to master to be successful.
Registration is available for the full 3 days (encompassing the Tasmanian Employers Conference and the TMEC Annual Conference), single-day registration or two-day registration for day’s two and three.

The TMEC Annual Conference (Session Two, Three and Four) will be held on Wednesday 24 and Thursday 25 July, with the Welcome Reception being held on the evening of Tuesday 23 July (following Session One, the Tasmanian Employers Conference).
Amidst a backdrop of local, national, and international factors disrupting the mining, manufacturing and energy-intense sectors, opportunities abound for those who can leverage developments at the frontier of innovation. In Tasmania, this sector continues to increase its identification with being “Cleaner. Smarter. Diverse.” This is beginning to resonate with investors, customers, employees, governments and the broader community.
In addition to,” what is being done”, gain insights from leaders and how they have shaped “how it is done”.
TMEC’s annual conference provides participants with insights from leading local and national entities and Government which should be essential input into a business’s strategic plan to ensure this sector continues to be the dominant economic and social contributor in Tasmania.
Registration is available for the full 3 days (encompassing the Tasmanian Employers Conference and the TMEC Annual Conference), single or two-day registration for day two and three is also available.
