CREATING EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND CONFIDENCE

2026/27 GEMS Program

Hurry! Registrations are closing….

Building the Next Leaders for Industry

The program is open to women (GEMS) in any sector and is a statewide program.

TMEC GEMS (Growth, Empowerment, Management, Selfcare) provides industry connections for the development and retention of women who have stepped into non-traditional roles and is designed to inspire and empower women in the industry, build leadership skills and break down barriers.

“I gained insight into how my own style influenced the way I was perceived, and how adapting to others could transform working relationships. I tackled a board paper on the looming changes to workplace exposure standards for diesel particulate matter, a topic close to my professional heart. And I delivered it. In front of the board. That is something I never imagined myself doing before GEMS. It was a moment where everything I’d learned came together.”  – Rebecca Pitt, 2025 Participant

We pay our respects to the palawa and pakana, the original and enduring custodians of the land and waters upon which we work, live, and love: Trouwunna/Lutruwita (Tasmania). We respect their resilience over uncountable generations and acknowledge the wisdom of elders past, present, and emerging. As residents today, we are fortunate to see those traditions reestablished and share a deeper connection physically and spiritually with Country together.
